Thank you

*A note before you read this. After doing an audit of my blog in 2022, I have decided to leave content that speaks to the Christian I was at the time this was written. I no longer identify as Christian (and haven’t for a very long time.) I chose to leave these posts because it is who I was then and it is important to me to be honest and true with every iteration and evolution of self that I experience. I may decide to add comments to the end of posts like this as well

2012 was pretty turbulent for us. You probably didn’t notice it (and that’s ok.) Making the best of life is the way I strive to live, so I really try to make a conscious decision to keep the complaining to a minimum.  I just finished doing our taxes and we got a rather unintended shock. (before I go on, let me say, I don’t talk a lot about finances, but this is stunning to us.)  We made less this year than we’ve EVER made as a couple (and we’ve been together nearly 20 years.) Phil says he hasn’t made this little since he was in the Army. He also worked countless 70+hour work weeks and drove nearly 3 hours round trip daily. (which by the way eats up tons of money in fuel. Even in a car that gets good mileage.)  We also had to change our diet this year and switch to eating gluten free. (again, more money spent on groceries.)

"I Pray for You"

We knew it was a rough year, but man. We didn’t realize how bad until we saw the numbers before our eyes.

We weren’t miserable, we got through. But now, looking back, I don’t know how.

Then God kinda whispered, “I sent them.”

Not just those of you who purchased,

but you who clicked “like” on a Facebook or Instagram or Twitter picture,

you who told a friend about my stuff,

you who traded art for sustenance,

you who shared a photo of something,

or you who trusted me enough to take photos of your beautiful family,

you who prayed for me, called me with a word from God, you who sent me a private message telling me your story,

you who doodled a picture because you saw something I did,

you–my family–who come to my events and bring your friends and show your friends my art,

ALL of you… Thank You.

Thank you from the deepest depths of my heart and soul.  I wouldn’t be writing this if it wasn’t for you.  Thank you for carrying me.

I love you all!!
