Day 2–Testing

Genesis 22:1: After all these things God tested Abraham.

After God told Abraham to leave his home. After God promised a son. After Sarah decided to take things into her own hands and send Hagar to Abraham. After Ishmael was born. After Abraham and Sarah conceived and gave birth to the son of the promise, Isaac.
After all these things God tested Abraham.
And for some reason, when I’m tested, it comes as a surprise?

Day 1–Again with the Message

So, I was on Twitter tonight and saw people talking about The Bible in 90 Days Challenge and on a whim decided I should sign on. It’s honestly been a few years since I’ve read my Bible cover to cover and with all I’ve been going through lately, I figure I need this.

I chatted a bit then downloaded the reading plan, got off the computer, grabbed my Bible and an notebook, and started to read the first day’s passages.
Guess where today’s reading ended?
Jehovah Roi.
The God Who Sees.
Not placing it? How about this verse, “Return to your mistress and put up with her mistreatment.”
Oh yes it did.
Again with the Message.
And the repetitiveness. If there’s something I’ve learned about God it’s that he’s very stubborn (and you wonder where I got it from?!) He must be pounding this verse in my head for a reason.
Either that or I’m missing something.
But what could I be missing?
