Should I Get A New Hairstyle?

I’m being treated to a cut and color at Vanis Salon & Day Spa next week.

Here are the most recent pictures of my hair. The first set was taken the first part of May the second set just this past weekend. My face is really round and my profile is flat. I tried to include a profile picture (even though I hate them.)
My natural color is pretty close to Zane’s. I tend to like to be a redhead because it seems to bring out my facial coloring and I don’t look so washed out.

I like my hair fine. But is it time for a new style or should I just get what I have touched up and get a nice color? If you think I should get a new style–wanna help me find one?

Edit (for Robin mostly) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s my hair November 2005.

I don’t keep a style long girlfriend. LOL. So the ten year rule is way out the window for me. And I’ll just add the rest of my comments here. This is a new stylist I’ll be seeing, but they’re one of the top salons in the area. Maybe I should print this out to show her how it looked less than 3 years ago?

  1. Is it naturally curly? I have a friend that cut hers just below the chin recently and the curls look SO cute that way (not cutesy cute but stylish!) So nice either way to go to Vanis and get something new done!!

  2. Heather–you KNOW I love the red, it just fades so fast.

Karen–thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚ I like the length, but I’m not afraid to cut on it. It just feels like it needs a good shape up.

Steph–Naturally curly? Hmmm. Probably more like naturally wavy. I don’t use a brush, I don’t use a blowdryer, and I don’t use much product. Maybe a few more layers would bring out some more of the waves?

  3. Okay Michelle…here’s my two cents; in part, it’s based on a silly radio conversation I heard a while back. The hosts were discussing the “statistic” (not sure how accurate it was) that women change their hairstyles about every 10 years. Soooo, it makes me wonder how long yours has been like it is.

IF you trust your stylist, I’d ask for suggestions and then LISTEN. Since you want a no fuss style (based on no brush/dryer/product comment above), you need to tell him/her that.

Wait a second, your hair looks like that without a brush/dryer/product???? Geezaree, girlie…!

Then again, while I DO use a round brush/dryer to style my hair, I don’t use a brush to, well, brush it after that–I use my fingers.

Last thoughts…talk to your stylist about color, too. They KNOW what looks good w/your natural color and skin tones. When I’ve listened to Lily (I trust her) she’s always been right :).

  4. You definitely have the ability to pull off both “looks”–if it were me, yeah, I’d take a picture.

Short seems sassier on you–does that fit your personality better? Heck, though, since you seem like you change styles like I change underwear (ummm…bad analogy!!), just have FUN!

I twitted about the package you sent…daggum it, I’ve gotta go to the post office to pick it up! They didn’t leave it ’cause I wasn’t here and our dog was roaming…:/.

    CAN’T WAIT! YOU ROCK!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
